TLHCA: Meeting Tuesday, Ideas for Neighborhood Improvements

View this email in your browser Tara-Leeway Heights Civic Association News and Updates for January 2017 Tuesday Night - Monthly TLHCA Meeting TLHCA will hold its January meeting on Tuesday, January 17th. On this month's agenda: The Neighborhood Conservation Program - What improvements do we need in Tara-Leeway Heights? New sidewalks? Streetlights? Street beautification? Do you have a suggestion for a neighborhood improvement project that we should propose for Neighborhood Conservation program funding? See below for details on the program. At this meeting we will also discuss: Updates on the Virginia Hospital Center expansion Latest on school issues affecting our neighborhood Discussion of high water bills Greater Westover Group events January 17 at 7 pm Trinity Presbyterian Church Enter via the small parking lot off of Inglewood St. Background on the Neighborhood Conservation Program Arlington funds neighborhood improvements through its Neighborhood Conservation Program. Civic Associations wishing to participate in this program must have Neighborhood Conservation plans in place that outline the community's priorities and ideas for improvement. Proposals for Neighborhood Conservation Program funding must be consistent with these plans. Projects can include: sidewalks, street beautification, intersection improvements, pedestrian safety projects, street lights and parks. Come to the January 17th TLHCA meeting with your ideas! Here is some background on the program: Tara Leeway Heights Neighborhood Conservation Plan was originally drafted in 1980 and last updated in 2005 after extensive community surveys and discussions. For a full list of active NC projects, including those in various phases of design and construction, see this January 2017 update from the County. For details on the most recent round of NC project recommendations, including scores for all outstanding proposals, see this December NCAC 2016 Funding Session booklet.
