School Board Votes on Reed School Tomorrow

As you may be aware, the Superintendent's Proposed FY 2017-26 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) included a proposal for a new 725-seat elementary school at the Reed building opening in Fall 2021. The School Board will take action on the CIP tomorrow, June 16, 2016.

Depending on the combination of projects and timing in the approved CIP, Reed may open as a small elementary school as early as Fall 2017 with expansion to a full size school by Fall 2023.

The determination on the use of Reed as a neighborhood or choice school is not part of the CIP. The four surrounding Civic Associations are strongly supporting the use of Reed School as a neighborhood walking elementary school.
